The sun is shining today, and we feel like spring is right around the corner!
...OK, well we all know it will snow at least a couple more times (it is only February, after all) but today got us thinking about warmer weather and the possibility of spring! Specifically, we have been daydreaming of a glorious wedding we designed last summer in Petoskey, held at the Perry Hotel. Today, in light of surprisingly wonderful weather, we thought you would enjoy these "happy" photos, courtesy of the uber-talented Ben and Laura of Ben Harrison Photography! Not only is yellow a hot color this year but it brings light to our very long winters...today is a reminder why we live in Michigan! Enjoy!

This wedding might be one my favorite memories with Modern Day... The weather was BEAUTIFUL... the venue was gorgeous... the flowers for incredible (who wouldn't love a bouquet of cattleya orchids???)... sigh... I can't wait for summer :)
I cannot wait for summer either! Wasn't Tuesday such a tease?! I planted some alliums (globemasters, some white ones) this past fall and I cannot wait to see them this spring/summer. They are probably one of my favorite flowers. Also, I was in the shop last week sometime and purchased a forcinthia branch for a gift, and your girls did beautiful work with it! I took the pieces we had to cut off to fit in the vase, and they are still blooming and looking great! :) - Sara
I have a bride using cattleya orchids this year so I am passing this photo on to her! She's going to LOVE IT!
